Fatesend Server Changes

Fatesend keeps the identity of Classic Pre-Renewal Ragnarok Online while introducing selected balance fixes, progression systems and quality-of-life improvements. This page lists the server-specific changes you should know before playing.

Doram / Summoner for Pre-Renewal

Doram brings the Summoner's Animal, Plant and Seafood paths to Fatesend with skills, equipment and progression adapted to Pre-Renewal. The class reaches Base 99 / Job 50, has 49 skill points and does not rebirth. It follows the server's 99 stat and 190 ASPD caps and counts as a medium-sized player in combat.

Your core path is New Basic Skill → Bite → Hide → Scratch → Stoop → Lope → Soul Attack. Spending 11 points unlocks Soul Attack and opens all three branches; their first four skills have five levels each and their final passive has one. Specialize or combine paths within your point budget.

Doram skill paths
PathHow it plays
Animal — physicalPicky Peck → Arclouse Dash → Scar of Tarou → Lunatic Carrot Beat → Power of Life. Focus on physical attacks, mobility buffs, damage over time and area damage. Scar of Tarou requires Arclouse Dash 3.
Plant — magicSilvervine Stem Spear → Silvervine Root Twist → Catnip Meteor → Catnip Powdering → Power of Land. Use elemental spells, roots, area damage and debuffs. Stem Spear's selected skill level determines its element.
Seafood — supportFresh Shrimp → Bunch of Shrimp → Tuna Belly → Tuna Party → Power of Sea. Combine healing over time, party ATK/MATK buffs, direct healing and protective shields.
Movement, defense and equipment
  • Soul Attack is a free toggle between melee normal attacks and ranged physical normal attacks with an 11-cell range.
  • Stoop lasts up to 6 seconds and reduces the first damaging hit by 90% in PvE or 50% on versus maps. That hit consumes the effect; moving or knockback also ends it.
  • Lope jumps 3/5/7 cells. Its cooldown is 2 seconds in PvE and 5 seconds in PvP; it cannot be used in GvG or Battlegrounds.
  • Hide conceals you while stationary. Bosses and detectors can still find you; taking damage or changing maps ends it.
  • Equipment starts with a Beginner Foxtail Staff and Cotton Shirt. Foxtails use Pre-Renewal staff, refine, card and endow mechanics. Doram can also wear armor allowed for the base Ninja, Gunslinger or Soul Linker classes; this does not grant access to their weapons.
  • Training Grounds teaches the shared basics. Learn New Basic Skill 1 before leaving for Prontera. Doram weapons are sold at /navi prt_in 129/62, with further Foxtails available from monster drops.

Server-side Homunculus & Mercenary AI

The server handles your companion's automatic following, target selection, attacks and skills. Configure everything in-game with @homunai for a Homunculus or @mercai for a Mercenary; no custom client AI scripts are needed. Each character has two independent profiles, and changes save immediately.

  1. Open the appropriate command and choose a preset. Balanced is the default.
  2. Adjust Behavior to enable normal attacks, skill use, proactive search, owner assist and defense of you or the companion.
  3. Use Skills and rules with the matching companion active to choose from its learned, supported skills. Set targets, conditions, priority and an SP reserve.
  4. Set Monster targets and Range and following, or use Pause / Resume AI when needed. General settings can be edited even without an active companion.
Companion AI presets
PresetBehavior
PassiveFollows you without automatic attacks or skills.
SupportUses supported recovery, defense, buff and utility skills. Normal attacks and proactive monster hunting are disabled.
DefensiveReacts to attacks against you or the companion and assists your current attack target. It does not start fights with unrelated nearby monsters.
BalancedSearches for eligible monsters, attacks and uses skills, while assisting and protecting you. Default search/chase ranges are 9/10 cells with a 15% SP reserve.
AggressiveUses proactive combat with wider default search/chase ranges of 10/12 cells and a lower 10% SP reserve.
Custom rules and monster targets

You can save up to 24 skill rules per companion type. For example, a Lif that knows Healing Hands can use it on its owner when the owner's HP falls below a chosen percentage. Available targets and conditions depend on the skill; cast times, cooldowns, SP costs and your reserve still apply.

Select monster species from the current map or enter their IDs. An empty list allows all otherwise eligible monsters; a saved list restricts targeting to up to 64 species. With IGNORE, unlisted monsters stay excluded. DEFEND allows an exception only after an unlisted monster actually attacks you or your companion, with the corresponding defense behavior enabled.

Search and chase distances are measured from your character and can be set up to 18 cells. A companion that stays more than 18 cells away for three seconds returns to you. Applying a preset replaces that profile's custom skill rules while preserving its monster list and unlisted-attacker policy.

Manual controls and combat limits

Homunculus ALT+click movement and move-to-owner commands remain under your control. The AI waits for an accepted manual move to finish before resuming. Mercenary movement is controlled by the server. Feeding, Homunculus vaporize/delete and Mercenary release still work normally.

Intimacy-consuming Homunculus skills such as S.B.R.44 and Self-Destruction remain manual and cannot be added to automatic rules. Other attacks and supported skill casts are managed through the server AI profile.

Automatic combat is disabled in PvP, GvG and Battlegrounds. Targeting respects kill-steal protection; an area skill is skipped if it would hit a monster claimed exclusively by another player or party.

Chat Channels

When you join the server, you automatically join these channels:

  • #main - general conversations about the game or anything else.
  • #trade - buy/sell posts only. A short posting delay is applied to prevent spam.
  • #map - visible to all players currently on your map.

Class Changes

Novice

We introduced many balance changes and quality updates so every class is viable from the start. You don't need to level a Hunter first just to fund your favorite class - play what you enjoy right away.

Not sure which class to start with? A quick look at the changes can help:

  • All classes are viable from level 1 - no "setup" meta required.
  • Smoother early game: adjusted cast times, SP sustain and skill pacing.
  • Selective skill and mechanic tweaks reduce gear dependency.
  • Role identity preserved while keeping both solo and party paths open.

Use @trophies to open the menu - check totals, pick a repeatable to set Navi to the right NPC, and convert Trophies into EXP when you're ready. More details: Repeatable Quests.
